Chieswema , Sep 5: The Assam Rifles conducted an Annual Health Screening and Medical Check-up for students of Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS), Chieswema, focusing on preventive healthcare, early detection of health concerns and promotion of healthy lifestyle practices.
The initiative benefited 45 students and was aimed at ensuring regular health monitoring among schoolchildren while creating greater awareness about the importance of preventive healthcare.
During the medical check-up, students underwent health screening to help identify potential health concerns at an early stage. The initiative also provided an opportunity for students to seek medical guidance and understand the importance of maintaining good health during their formative years.
Health awareness was an important component of the programme, with students being sensitised about personal hygiene, proper nutrition, sanitation and healthy lifestyle practices. They were encouraged to adopt habits that can help prevent common illnesses and contribute to their overall physical and mental well-being.
The initiative highlighted the importance of regular medical examinations for children, particularly in educational institutions, where early identification of health issues can help ensure timely intervention and minimise their impact on students’ academic and personal development.
The Assam Rifles has continued to undertake community-oriented welfare initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of people in the region. Health camps and awareness programmes form an important part of such outreach efforts, particularly for children and young people.
The health screening at ARPS Chieswema also reinforced the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and healthcare initiatives in promoting a culture of prevention rather than treatment.
The programme concluded with an emphasis on maintaining healthy habits and encouraging students to remain conscious of their health and well-being. The initiative reaffirmed the Assam Rifles’ commitment to community welfare, youth development and preventive healthcare, while strengthening its engagement with local communities in Nagaland.
