Assam Rifles showcases drone Tech to NCC cadets

April 13, 2026 | BK News Service

Lunglei, April 12: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps, in collaboration with the Territorial Army, conducted an engaging drone demonstration for NCC cadets at the NCC Camp in Lunglei, Mizoram, aimed at familiarising young cadets with modern military technologies and their evolving role in contemporary warfare.

The session showcased the growing use of unmanned aerial systems in surveillance, reconnaissance, and operational planning. Cadets were given a live demonstration of drone capabilities, including aerial monitoring and tactical applications used by security forces in challenging terrains.
Officials highlighted that such initiatives are designed to bridge the gap between traditional training and emerging defence technologies, enabling cadets to better understand the changing nature of military operations. The interactive session also encouraged students to explore careers in the armed forces and defence technology sectors.
The programme was widely appreciated by NCC cadets, who actively participated in the demonstration and engaged with personnel on the technical aspects of drone operations.
Security personnel emphasised that technology-driven training and youth engagement are essential for building a future-ready defence ecosystem, especially in strategically sensitive regions like the Northeast.
The event concluded with a call to inspire discipline, innovation, and national service among young cadets through continued exposure to advanced military systems.
