Lazu, , Aug 30: Assam Rifles celebrated Raksha Bandhan and organised an outreach programme, “A Day with Company Commander,” at its Company Operating Base in Lazu, Arunachal Pradesh, bringing together around 375 villagers, including village heads and public representatives.

The programme was aimed at strengthening people-centric engagement and fostering trust, cooperation and mutual respect between the security forces and the local community.
The Raksha Bandhan celebrations provided an opportunity for villagers and Assam Rifles personnel to come together in a spirit of fraternity and goodwill. The occasion highlighted the strong bonds that have developed between the force and the communities it serves.
A range of activities was organised during the programme, including cultural performances, sports events, a medical camp and career counselling sessions. These activities provided participants with opportunities for interaction while addressing aspects of health, education, career development and community welfare.
The medical camp offered basic healthcare assistance to villagers, while the career counselling session focused on guiding local youth about available opportunities and career pathways. Sports and cultural activities further encouraged community participation, particularly among young people.
The presence of village heads and public leaders added to the significance of the gathering, providing a platform for dialogue and strengthening coordination between the security establishment and local stakeholders.
