Assam Rifles strengthens community ties in Manipur

Chandel, July 12: Reinforcing its commitment to strengthening ties with local communities, the Assam Rifles under the Spear Corps conducted community outreach interactions at Machi and SL Zougam in Manipur's Chandel district.

The outreach programme brought together local civil society leaders and Assam Rifles personnel to promote dialogue, mutual understanding and stronger military-civil cooperation.
During the interactions, discussions focused on maintaining peace, strengthening community participation in development initiatives and enhancing coordination between the security forces and local residents.
Officials said the engagements were aimed at fostering mutual trust and reinforcing the shared commitment of both the security forces and the local population towards lasting peace, security and inclusive development in the region.
The Assam Rifles personnel highlighted the importance of community participation in maintaining harmony and encouraged continuous cooperation in addressing local concerns through constructive dialogue.
Civil society representatives appreciated the initiative, describing the interactions as a valuable platform for strengthening communication and building confidence between the local population and the security forces.
Community leaders reaffirmed their wholehearted support for efforts aimed at preserving peace, communal harmony and stability in the region and pledged continued cooperation with the Assam Rifles in promoting a secure and progressive environment.
