Imphal/Kohima, Nov 3: Reinforcing its commitment to community welfare and humanitarian assistance, Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, conducted a series of medical outreach activities across remote areas of Manipur and Nagaland, providing healthcare services and emergency assistance to local residents.
In Manipur, a medical camp was organised at Sangji village in Noney district, where villagers received medical consultations and free medicines. The initiative aimed to improve access to basic healthcare facilities for people living in remote and underserved areas.
In a separate humanitarian intervention in Chandel district, an Assam Rifles medical team provided prompt medical assistance to a 16-year-old student who had sustained a severe sports injury. The timely response helped the injured youngster receive the necessary medical attention.
Meanwhile, in Nagaland, Assam Rifles organised a free medical camp at Pessao village in Mon district. The camp provided medical consultations, health check-ups, treatment and essential medicines to villagers.
The initiative witnessed active participation from the Pessao Village Council and the Pessao Village Students’ Union, reflecting strong community cooperation in promoting public health and well-being.
Medical outreach programmes by Assam Rifles are aimed at addressing healthcare gaps in geographically isolated communities, where access to medical facilities and timely treatment often remains a challenge.
Through such initiatives, the force continues to combine its security responsibilities with humanitarian outreach, strengthening its engagement with local communities and extending essential medical support to people in remote border regions.
The activities reaffirm Assam Rifles' commitment to community welfare, accessible healthcare and people-centric initiatives across the Northeast.
