Imphal, Dec 10: Assam Rifles recently conducted a focused pre-recruitment training programme for aspiring youths from Tamenglong and Noney districts of Manipur, aimed at preparing them for selection under the Agnipath Scheme. The initiative sought to empower local youth by equipping them with the necessary physical, mental, and skill-based readiness required for a career in the armed forces.

Under the supervision of experienced and dedicated instructors, participants underwent rigorous training that included physical fitness exercises, skill development sessions, and motivational guidance. The comprehensive programme emphasized discipline, endurance, and strategic thinking, ensuring that candidates were well-prepared for the demanding recruitment process.
The training not only enhanced the aspirants’ physical and mental capabilities but also instilled confidence, resilience, and a sense of responsibility. In addition, instructors provided mentorship on how to approach the selection procedures effectively, including interviews, fitness tests, and aptitude assessments.
The programme culminated in the successful selection of ten candidates who have qualified for recruitment under the Agnipath Scheme. A special felicitation ceremony was held to honour the selected candidates, where their parents were also invited, highlighting the collective achievement of families and the community.
This initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ commitment to youth development and nation-building by providing local youth with opportunities to integrate into the national mainstream, while fostering leadership, discipline, and patriotism among the next generation.
