Assam Rifles upgrades CHC in Beheng village

January 22, 2026 | BK News Service

Churachandpur, Jan 21: Assam Rifles stationed at Khuga, Churachandpur, undertook a significant healthcare initiative on January 16, 2026, by upgrading the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Beheng Village under its Civic Action Programme.

The CHC, established by the State Health Department, serves as the primary medical facility for Beheng and surrounding villages. Prior to the upgrade, the centre faced critical challenges, including shortages of diagnostic equipment, unreliable power supply, and limited emergency response capability.
Under the initiative, Assam Rifles provided modern diagnostic tools, strengthened electricity infrastructure, and enhanced emergency medical facilities, ensuring that the CHC can now deliver timely and effective healthcare services to the local population.
The upgraded facility is expected to improve patient care, reduce travel for medical attention, and support the health needs of thousands of residents in Beheng and nearby villages. Local authorities and community members lauded the Assam Rifles for their proactive role in strengthening rural healthcare and contributing to the welfare of the region.
