
Athletes from all over India arrived in Sonamarg on Sunday for the 9th National SnowShoe Championship-2025.
The stage is set for the National SnowShoe Championship-2025 as the athletes arrived in Sonamarg on Sunday for the particiation. The championship is scheduled to be inaugurated on Monday with competitions of male and female sections to be held in both junior and senior categories. The event will conclude on Tuesday.
The event is being conducted by J&K SnowShoe Association in colaboration with Department of Tourism and under the auspices SnowShoe Federation of India.
"It is second time ever that a National level Wintersport event is being held in Sonamarg. The aim behind hosting event in Sonamarg is to promote it as next wintersport destination of Country. We have been able to succeed in that so far and hope in future our efforts bear fruit," Said SnowShoe Federation of India President Mir Muddasir.
Earlier teams were flagged off from TRC Srinagar by renowed athlete Riyaz Wani alongwith J&K SnowShoe Association official Khan Gulzar.
Around 110 athletes from 15-17 States/union territories of Country are participating in the event.
