Kathua, Nov 27 :Delhi Public School Junior Kathua is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Avyaan Gupta, a talented and spirited student of Class 1, who has brought immense honour to the school by securing second place in the prestigious 7th JMD Chess Tournament held in Jalandhar. The tournament, known for its competitive spirit and disciplined conduct, witnessed participation from several promising young players across the region. Amid such a dynamic and challenging environment, Avyaan’s performance remained consistently impressive, making his accomplishment truly commendable.
Competing in the Under-8 category, Avyaan displayed remarkable confidence, strategic depth, and mature decision-making far beyond his years. Across all five rounds, he maintained exceptional focus, demonstrated quick analytical thinking, and responded to complex game situations with calm precision. His ability to read his opponent’s intentions and plan multiple moves ahead earned admiration from coaches, organisers, and fellow participants. His outstanding gameplay secured him a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 600, adding to the pride of the DPS Junior Kathua family.
