The Hon’ble Court of Awantipora has imposed a punishment of community service on one Rakesh Bharti of Udhampur, who was found guilty of being in a drunken state and engaging in public misconduct at Jawbera, Awantipora.

The incident, which drew public concern, was taken seriously by Awantipora Police, as such behavior undermines public decency and order. In view of this, and considering the principles of reformative justice, the court directed Rakesh Bharti to undergo community service as a corrective measure by cleaning Court Complex for two days.

Any act of public misconduct, particularly under the influence of alcohol or other substances, will be dealt with firmly but fairly.
