'Awareness among students essential for drug-free society'

Continuing its endeavour to eradicate menace of drugs from the society, an awareness programme on Drug De-Addiction was conducted here today at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Khonmoh on the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat.
The event was organized by District Administration Srinagar aimed at sensitizing students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging them to lead a healthy, drug-free life. The event featured informative sessions addressing the physical, mental, and social consequences of substance abuse.
The anti-drug awareness programme was a part of an ongoing initiative of the Government to educate school children, staff members, and local residents about the growing menace of drug addiction and the collective responsibility to curb it.
The programme was also aimed at sensitizing students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging them to lead a healthy, drug-free society. The event featured informative sessions addressing the physical, mental, and social consequences of substance abuse.
The program witnessed active participation from school faculty, students, local community members, and officials from various Departments.
Block Development Officer Khonmoh was present on the occasion and emphasized the crucial role of education, awareness, and community involvement in eradicating the menace of drugs from society.
