Ganderbal, June 15: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Sunday visited Baltal to review arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2026.

Accompanied by senior officials including Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore and SSP Ganderbal Sudhanshu Dhama, the Divisional Commissioner inspected key facilities such as Yatri Niwas, RFID counters, dormitories, pony stand and the Baltal base camp.
He reviewed ongoing works and directed departments to complete all preparations by June 20, ensuring full operational readiness before the pilgrimage begins. He also stressed coordination among departments and round-the-clock availability of officers for smooth management.
Garg instructed timely installation of signage, public information boards and awareness material, along with proper sanitation, queue regulation, traffic management and essential services along the route.
During a high-level review meeting, the Health Department informed that medical aid centres will be fully functional by June 28 and oxygen booths by June 25, with advance medical teams already deployed.
He also reviewed arrangements for water, power, telecom, sanitation, disaster management and fire safety, directing agencies like Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to ensure uninterrupted services and infrastructure support.
Officials from multiple departments, including tourism, health, transport, police, and the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, attended the meeting.
