Bandipora, June 20, 2026: The 4th District Bandipora Ball Badminton Championship for boys & girls session 2026-27 concluded successfully at SK Stadium, Bandipora, marking another significant milestone for the promotion of grassroots sports in the district.

The two-day championship was organized by the District Bandipora Ball Badminton Association in collaboration with Hills & Hearts Foundation and Star Sports Academy Bandipora, under the aegis of the Jammu & Kashmir Ball Badminton Association and sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council.
The championship witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 130 young athletes from various schools,Colleges and clubs across the district. A special focus was placed on tribal and grassroots inclusion, enabling children from remote and underserved areas to actively participate and showcase their sporting talent on a larger platform.
The event was also aligned with the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, promoting sports as a powerful tool to encourage a healthy lifestyle and steer youth away from drug abuse and other social evils.
The inaugural day was graced by Mr. Ajaz Zargar, SSP Bandipora, as the Chief Guest. The Special Guests included Master Ayaz Ahmad Bhat, Incharge Manager SK Stadium Bandipora, and noted social activist Mr. Rizwan.
On the concluding day, Major Kunal of 14 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) attended as the Chief Guest. The occasion was further graced by President Awardee Mr. Kifayatullah Malik, SHO Bandipora, and Mr. Sahil Muzaffar, District Secretary Anantnag Ball Badminton Association, as Special Guests.
The championship was successfully coordinated under the leadership of Mr. Raashid Gulzar, District Secretary, Bandipora Ball Badminton Association, with valuable support from Mr. Majid Rafiq, Mr. Mohammed Saleem, and the dedicated team of Star Sports Academy Bandipora.
The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, Jammu & Kashmir Ball Badminton Association, participating schools, coaches, officials, and parents for their continued support in making the championship a grand success.
The Association congratulated all participating players for their outstanding sportsmanship and performance and reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing young talent and strengthening the sporting culture in the region.
