
The six-day Inter-District UT-Level Rugby Competitions for boys and girls across all age groups concluded successfully at the Rugby Ground, Srinagar, witnessing enthusiastic participation from over 400 athletes representing various districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The event was organized by the District Youth Services and Sports (DYSSO) Srinagar, marking another milestone in promoting sports culture among the youth of the Union Territory.
The spirited participation and overwhelming response of young athletes underscored the growing momentum of sports engagement among the younger generation.
In both phases of the championship, Bandipora boys and girls exhibited exceptional sportsmanship, skills, and teamwork, ultimately clinching the overall titles.
In the final match of the U/19 Boys category, Bandipora triumphed over District Budgam, securing the championship trophy.
The competitions were organized under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” campaign, aimed at promoting a drug-free and active lifestyle among youth.
The award ceremony was graced by Nodal Officer Mohammad Shafi Wani, Convenor Meya Younis Raza, and Activity Incharge DYSSO Srinagar Mir Fayaz Ahmad, who commended the efforts of the participating athletes.
Mir Fayaz also applauded the technical officials, coaches, media personnel, and escort teachers for their invaluable contributions in making the championship a grand success.
