
Baramulla, Mar 30: SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, R.P. Singh, visited Baramulla town on Monday to review the implementation of a new traffic management plan aimed at easing congestion and ensuring smooth vehicular movement across the town.
During the inspection, Singh toured several busy junctions and market areas where traffic bottlenecks have long troubled commuters. He interacted with traffic officials and local residents, emphasizing that strict enforcement of traffic rules, coupled with public cooperation, is essential for the success of the plan.
The new strategy involves diversion of routes, regulation of parking spaces, and intensified checks against violations such as reckless driving, triple riding, stunt biking, and underage driving. Authorities reported that several vehicles were challaned and seized during the enforcement drive.
Speaking to the media, SSP Singh said, “Our focus is not only on enforcement but also on awareness. We want to ensure safer roads for commuters and smoother traffic flow in Baramulla.”
