Srinagar, Sept 12: The body of a suspected Pakistani terrorist affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) was recovered from the higher reaches of Doda district on Saturday, officials said.

They said the body was found lying in the remote Seojdhar forest connecting the Bhaderwah valley of Doda with adjoining Udhampur and Kathua districts during a joint operation by the Army and police.
"You Can Run But You Can't Hide ! SOG Doda, RR and CRPF retrieved the remains of a Pakistani Jaish e Mohammed terrorist, who was neutralised earlier in a Joint Op. A night enabled M 4 has also been recovered," police said in a post on X.
Security forces have stepped up area-domination patrols and search operations across Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban following intelligence inputs about terrorist movement in the region’s remote upper reaches. Earlier gunfights in high-altitude areas have also prompted joint teams to intensify combing operations in dense forests and mountainous terrain.
Counter-terror operations have been expanded across the Jammu division as foreign terrorists increasingly use forests, caves and mountain passes to evade detection. More than 4,000 troops, including Para Commandos and personnel trained in mountain warfare, have reportedly been deployed across the region’s hilly districts.
