
Muzaffarpur, Sep 11: An extempore speech competition, a joint initiative of BR Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU) and Akashvani, Patna, was held at the university's Senate Hall today to commemorate 90 years of Akashvani. The event was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai, and saw enthusiastic participation from students of various departments and affiliated colleges.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Rai lauded Akashvani, calling it a "cornerstone of our society" and a powerful medium for "education, information, and entertainment." He emphasized its invaluable contribution to public discourse and cultural preservation over its 90-year journey. The Vice-Chancellor underscored the importance of such competitions for students' holistic development, stating, "They provide a platform for young minds to hone their communication skills, build confidence, and learn to think on their feet." He also highlighted the necessity of collaborations between academic institutions and public service organizations to create a well-rounded and socially aware generation.
Prof. Rai also noted the significant progress in the university's cultural activities. "I am proud to say that due to the initiatives taken by the university in the last one and half years, our cultural team has performed exceptionally well on bigger stages," he said. Prof. Rai concluded the event by awarding medals to the top performers, recognizing their exceptional talent.
The event was also addressed by several prominent academics, including Prof. Manoj Kumar from the PG Department of Sanskrit, Anshuman Jha from Akashvani, Patna, and Prof. Vijay Kumar Karn from Nav Nalanda University.
University officials and college principals, including Proctor Prof. B.S. Rai, L.S. College Principal Prof. Kanupriya, Prof. Rajnish Gupta, Prof. T.K. Dey, Prof. Rajeev Kumar, Prof. Arvind Kumar, and Dr. Navin Kumar, were also present to encourage the students.
