BRABU marked the occasion with a message from Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai. In his message, the VC Prof. Rai underlined the impact of both leaders on the national ethos. "Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi gave the world the timeless philosophy of Satyagraha and Ahimsa," Prof. Rai said. "His teachings remain the foundation of our democratic values and an unwavering guide for global peace. We must strive to live by his principles of truth and non-violence." Speaking on the former Prime Minister, Prof. Rai added, "Bharat Ratna Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, the epitome of humility and courage, rallied the nation with his clarion call of 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan'. He was a true nation builder who prioritized self-reliance and national honour, setting an example of selfless service that continues to inspire every Indian." The Vice Chancellor Prof. Rai urged students to dedicate themselves to national service, following the footsteps of these two stalwarts.
A separate, historically significant ceremony took place at Langat Singh College, where Principal Prof. Kanupriya led the college community in a solemn prayer meet. She also paid floral tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and the historically preserved ‘Gandhi Kup’ located within the campus. Prof. Kanupriya emphasized the unique connection the college shares with the Father of the Nation and the heritage preserved there.
"It is a matter of immense pride for every member of the LS College fraternity that Mahatma Gandhi visited our campus in 1917," the Principal stated.
