Budgam, Sep 27: A group of 30 progressive farmers from District Budgam was today flagged off by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Budgam, Viek Agarwal, for an inter-State exposure visit to Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, Punjab.

The exposure visit, commencing from September 27, 2026, is being organised under HADP P-14 with the objective of providing farmers practical exposure to the latest technologies, innovations and modern scientific practices in floriculture and allied agricultural activities.
The farmers were flagged off in the presence of Chief Agriculture Officer, Budgam, Farzana Tabassum, and District Agriculture Officer (Extension), Gh. Hassan Gorsi.
Interacting with the participating farmers, the Chief Agriculture Officer urged them to make the most of the exposure visit and acquire maximum knowledge about modern agricultural technologies and scientific practices. She stressed upon the farmers to adopt suitable technologies and practices in their fields for enhancing productivity and improving farm incomes.
The ADDC emphasised the importance of translating the knowledge and skills acquired during the exposure visit into practical interventions at farmers’ fields. He encouraged the farming community to adopt modern technologies and innovative agricultural practices suited to local conditions.
He also appreciated the Department of Agriculture for facilitating such exposure visits and capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening the knowledge base of farmers and promoting modern and sustainable agricultural practices in the district.
The exposure visit is expected to provide the participating farmers an opportunity to interact with experts, gain first-hand knowledge of advanced agricultural practices and acquaint themselves with innovations in floriculture and allied sectors.
