
Police in Pulwama successfully concluded the Volleyball Tournament for Boys at Govt. High School Lassipora under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025–26, marking the end of an energetic sporting event filled with enthusiasm, teamwork and competitive spirit.
The closing ceremony was graced by SSP Pulwama Ms. Tanushree-IPS, along with other senior officers of the district. Addressing the gathering, SSP Pulwama lauded the young players for their sportsmanship and dedication, and highlighted the vital role of sports in fostering discipline, confidence and positive engagement among youth, while strengthening police–public connect.
The tournament culminated in a nail-biting final match, where Star Volleyball Club Pulwama clinched the championship title, bagging a cash prize of ₹18,000 along with a trophy. Hydrogen Army Volleyball Club Pulwama emerged as runners-up and were awarded ₹11,000 and a trophy. Sports uniforms were also distributed to both the winning and runner-up teams. To further encourage individual excellence, the Player of the Match was awarded ₹1,500, while the Player of the Tournament received ₹3,000, along with trophies.
Police reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing local talent and promoting healthy, constructive avenues for youth through such impactful initiatives under the Civic Action Programme.
