Srinagar, Sep 10 : A surprise Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was conducted in SD Colony Batamaloo area of Srinagar on Thursday by joint teams of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), sources said.
Sources said the security personnel carried out house-to-house searches in the locality as part of the operation.
During the searches, identity cards of residents were checked and people were frisked by the security personnel, sources said.
The operation was conducted as a security measure, with personnel deployed at various points in the area while searches were carried out inside residential houses.
