
Drass , Nov 1: The Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Office Srinagar, today successfully concluded its extensive series of Integrated Communication and Outreach Programmes across the Ladakh region, with the final leg organised at Drass, Kargil, today.
The series, which began two weeks ago, covered remote and border areas including Tyakshi, Leh, Kargil, and Drass, focusing on the themes Viksit Bharat, Swachhata, Mission LiFE, New Criminal Laws, and Vigilance Awareness. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about India’s developmental journey, environmental protection, sustainable lifestyles, and citizen centric governance, with particular emphasis on engaging the youth and local communities.
At the Drass event today, students from Government Degree College Drass, Government Higher Secondary School Drass, and Government Higher Secondary School Bhimbet, Drass participated enthusiastically, reflecting a growing sense of awareness and civic responsibility among the younger generation of the region.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Drass, Vishal Atri attended the event as the Chief Guest and lauded the consistent efforts of the Central Bureau of Communication in reaching out to remote and high-altitude areas of Ladakh. Naseer Ahmad Rather, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar, reiterated that the Bureau is deeply committed to strengthening grassroots communication through participatory and creative outreach initiatives. He noted that CBC has been organising a series of impactful programmes across the Union Territory to ensure that messages about development, sustainability, and responsible citizenship reach every corner of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
The event featured expert talks, interactive sessions, quiz, painting, and debate competitions, as well as vibrant cultural performances and skits presented by CBC’s empanelled artists, showcasing the themes of Viksit Bharat and Swachhata. The programme concluded with a Swachhata Pledge, reaffirming the participants’ collective commitment to cleanliness, environmental protection, lawfulness, and national development.
