
The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India on Thursday organized an Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) at the Army Goodwill School(AGS), Khanabal in Anantnag. The day-long outreach programme was aimed at mass awareness about Viksit Bharat -2047 and related public welfare initiatives undertaken by the government.
Deliberations about key initiatives driving the journey of Viksit Bharat were held. Experts and resource persons from nodal departments and agencies delivered lectures on themes like Mission LiFE and Swachhata Hi Seva underscoring the importance of these programs in achieving a developed India.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Anantnag, Shri Sandeep Singh Bali presided over the program as Chief Guest. In a keynote address Shri Sandeep highlighted the impact of various public welfare schemes in social upliftment and development. He urged the youth to register under Mission Yuva and avail opportunities in skill development and entrepreneurship.
Earlier in his inaugural address, Sh. Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer (FPO),CBC, Field Office, Anantnag gave a detailed overview of the mandate and functioning of the Central Bureau of Communication. He briefed the participants about the purpose of the outreach programme and urged the young participants to be part of the development journey of India. He added that participation at the grassroots level is key for achieving the goals under Viksit Bharat.
Addressing a gathering of students, teachers and local community members, Sh. Naseer Ahmad Rather, FPO,Srinagar detailed out key themes of Viksit Bharat. He impressed upon the participants to ensure that their community reaps the benefits of a multitude of public welfare programmes.
Among those who addressed the gathering were Sh. Ishtiyaq Abass , Principal AGS,Khanabal, Sh. Zeeshan Beg, Panchayat Secretary, Sh. Naseer Ahmad Bhat, Senior Swachhata Executive and Sh. Ghulam Nabi , Range Officer.
As part of an integrated communication strategy, multiple channels of communication were employed for the outreach during the program, which included expert lectures, informative standees, printed IEC material and use of folk and traditional media. For engaging the students, special theme based Quiz, elocution and painting competitions were organized by CBC during the program. A local empanelled cultural troupe presented theme based skits promoting cleanliness ,environment protection, communal harmony and national integration.
