New Delhi, July 3: Director General of Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, on Friday called on Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) NS Raja Subramani, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, in New Delhi to discuss the evolving security scenario, operational preparedness and measures to strengthen inter-service coordination.

The high-level interaction focused on enhancing jointness among the Armed Forces, improving inter-service synergy and reinforcing the collective commitment towards safeguarding the nation's security interests.
During the meeting, the two senior military leaders reviewed the prevailing security environment, particularly in the North Eastern Region, and deliberated on strategies to further strengthen operational readiness and institutional coordination in response to emerging security challenges.
Discussions also covered capacity building, force modernisation and the continued role of the Assam Rifles in maintaining peace, stability and security in the strategically important Northeast.
The meeting underscored the importance of seamless coordination among the three Services and central security forces to ensure a robust national security framework capable of addressing both conventional and emerging threats.
