Reasi, October 9: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel deployed at the Salal Power Station in Jyotipuram, Reasi district, died after sustaining a gunshot injury from his service rifle on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Mushtaq Ahmad, son of Muhammad Din, a resident of Maadi village in Reasi district.

According to local sources, the personnel sustained the injury while on duty at the power station. He was subsequently shifted to a hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officials have yet to establish the reason behind the firing.
