In the modern era, we have immense and effective communication tools that help in exchanging business ideas from one corner of the world to another. Most trade-related deals are now carried out through virtual means such as emails, WhatsApp, and video conferencing. For the progress of any country, development is crucial and plays an important role in strengthening the economy. Development of roads, transport systems, trade and commerce, and proper management of cities while keeping environmental concerns in mind are essential aspects of development.
The government has established various departments that look after environmental issues and issue guidelines from time to time to safeguard the environment. Development does not only mean the construction of tunnels, large buildings, railway tracks, wide roads, or dams. Development must go hand in hand with environmental protection. In this article, I would like to highlight the importance of planting trees in cities and major business hubs of the district where there is heavy movement of traffic. Day by day our demands are increasing, and the rising flow of traffic pollutes the environment in many ways. Factories in the manufacturing sector release a significant amount of pollution into the air, water, and soil. Such activities cannot be stopped overnight. Therefore, the only viable option is to minimize environmental damage by actively participating in environmental protection measures and addressing the threats we face today. The government administration is doing commendable work by taking notice of environmental issues and implementing necessary measures.
The environment plays a vital and significant role in our lives. Environment means our surroundings; it includes plants, water bodies, animals, birds, air, soil, and other natural elements. It is a broad and essential concept in our day-to-day life. First and foremost, we must understand the importance of the environment and its role in sustaining life. However, development in the form of roads, bridges, buildings, railway tracks, airports, factories, industries, and hydroelectric dams is, in some ways, harming our environment.
If we analyze how this damage occurs, one major reason is the cutting down of trees during road widening and railway construction. This leads to soil erosion, which means the wearing away of the upper fertile layer of the soil. Soil erosion adversely affects soil fertility and increases the risk of flash floods, landslides, and other environmental hazards.
