
Shillong, Nov 15: Students of Indian Coast Guard Public School, Daman, visited Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles (HQ DGAR) at Laitkor, Shillong, gaining first-hand exposure to one of India’s oldest paramilitary forces.
During the visit, the students interacted with officers and personnel, learning about the Assam Rifles’ history, training standards, discipline, and multifaceted role in national security and humanitarian operations. The educational tour offered insights into the daily functioning of the force and highlighted its contributions to maintaining peace and stability in remote and border regions.
