Ganderbal, Sep 7: The Director General, CRPF today visited the 118 Battalion CRPF camp at Gund, Ganderbal, and reviewed security arrangements. During the visit, DG CRPF appreciated the pivotal role played by CRPF personnel in ensuring the smooth and safe conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. He specifically acknowledged the dedication, vigilance and professional commitment displayed by the force in safeguarding pilgrims and maintaining a secure environment in the region. In a facilitation ceremony, he also conferred Director General’s Discs (DG Discs) & Commendation certificates to all the deserving personnel of CRPF in recognition of their unparalleled dedication, operational excellence and outstanding performance of duties during this year yatra.

As part of the programme, the DG CRPF held a Sainik Sammelan with the troops. He patiently listened to the concerns and problems raised by the jawans and officers. He interacted with them on various welfare and operational issues. The DG offered practical suggestions and guidance aimed at further enhancing the operational capabilities and effectiveness of CRPF units deployed in Jammu & Kashmir. He also praised the efforts put by CRPF troops on ground resulting in considerable decline in terrorist activities in J&K along with all other security forces.
The visit underscored CRPF’s continued focus on operational readiness, personnel welfare and the highest standards of professionalism in duties. He exhorted the personnel to remain mission-ready, vigilant and steadfast in their commitment to national security, while continuing to discharge their responsibilities with discipline, dedication and operational excellence. During his visit, he was accompanied by Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Spl DG, J&K Zone, Sh. Gyanendra Kumar Verma, IG Ops Dte, Sh. Vineet Brijlal, IG, Kashmir Ops Sector, Sh. Pawan Kumar Sharma, IG Srinagar Sector CRPF and other senior officers of CRPF.
