
Srinagar, June 3: A swift and timely response by CRPF personnel saved the life of a 35-year-old civilian who was found unconscious near Zakura in Srinagar on Wednesday.
The civilian, identified as Altaf, a resident of Srinagar, was discovered in an unconscious state by a routine patrol team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The team was led by SI/GD Rajesh Kumar of 28 Battalion.
Without losing time, the personnel immediately shifted into emergency response mode. Recognising the critical condition of the individual, the team administered Sorbitrate and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the spot. The prompt intervention helped revive the man, who had shown no immediate signs of responsiveness at the time of discovery.
After stabilising his condition, the CRPF team arranged for his quick evacuation to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Habak for further medical evaluation and treatment. Medical authorities at the hospital later confirmed that the patient had been stabilised and declared fit.
Officials said the timely action and presence of mind displayed by the CRPF personnel proved crucial in saving the civilian’s life. The incident once again highlights the role of security forces in not only maintaining law and order but also providing immediate assistance during medical and humanitarian emergencies.
