
Udhampur, Nov 8: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo conducted an extensive review of ongoing development projects and flagship government initiatives across Udhampur district. The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai, SSP Amod Ashok Nagpure, and other district and divisional officers.
During the visit, the Chief Secretary emphasized improving road connectivity and installing mobile towers in the Dudu-Basantgarh area to enhance accessibility and communication. He directed all departments to ensure coverage of eligible beneficiaries under government schemes and stressed transparency, accountability, and timely project completion.
In education, Dulloo instructed the CEO to ensure quality learning in all government schools and strict monitoring of teachers’ biometric attendance. He also urged officers to conduct regular field visits and hold department-wise review meetings to track progress.
Regarding infrastructure, the SE PWD was asked to expedite ongoing works, while UEED was instructed to explore measures to rejuvenate the Devika River. He also directed acceleration of PMGSY projects with adequate mobilization of men and machinery to meet deadlines.
At Government Medical College Udhampur, the Chief Secretary reviewed construction progress, instructed adoption of double-shift work schedules, and emphasized efficient resource utilization. He also directed strengthening of critical care services and introduction of specialties like Cardiology, Neurology, and Oncology, with future plans for PG programs.
Dulloo called on bankers to promote financial inclusion, increase loan sanctioning, and support youth under Mission YUVA. He also encouraged public awareness for the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana to boost solar power adoption at the household level.
DC Udhampur presented a detailed sector-wise progress report covering key projects, including NH-244 (Chenani–Sudhmahadev road), Mantalai and Sudhmahadev tourist facilities, new GMC Udhampur, ITI relocation, AMRUT 2.0 water supply schemes, and initiatives under PWD, Social Welfare, Education, PMGSY, MGNREGA, SBM-G, RGSA, NRLM, NTEP, RDSS, Agriculture, Handloom, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, HADP, JJM, Devika Project, Digitization of Land Records, and the District Capex Budget.
