
Ganderbal, Feb 21: Dean Students Welfare (DSW), in collaboration with the Department of Kashmiri, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organized a debate competition and a signature campaign on the International Mother Language Day here.
The event was held under the theme, “Digitizing our Roots: Preserving Language Through Technology,” reflecting the growing need to safeguard linguistic heritage in the digital age.
Speaking on the occasion, Dean DSW, Dr. Jehirul Islam, said, the programme aims to highlight the significance of mother languages in shaping identity and preserving culture. He said the Day brought together students, faculty members, scholars, and language enthusiasts to deliberate on innovative ways of preserving indigenous languages through digital platforms, documentation, and technological tools.
