Ganderbal, Mar 27: The Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organized an interaction session with the UGC Rajbhasha Inspection Committee on Friday at its Tulmulla campus, highlighting efforts to implement the Rajbhasha Hindi Policy across administrative and academic functions.

Registrar Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir briefed the panel on initiatives undertaken to strengthen Hindi usage, noting that many employees have successfully completed language proficiency courses, including Prabodh, Praveen, Pragya, and Parangat. “These programs equip staff to effectively use Hindi in official correspondence and documentation,” he said, emphasizing the university’s commitment to linguistic inclusivity.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, acknowledged enthusiastic employee participation, stating that adoption of Hindi is being embraced genuinely rather than merely as a procedural requirement. He credited Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath for fostering an environment supportive of Hindi promotion.
UGC Joint Secretary Dr. G. S. Chauhan urged the university to intensify training programs, workshops, and guest lectures, while also enhancing proficiency in reading and writing Hindi. He commended the university’s progress in implementing the policy and encouraged continued efforts.
Hindi Adhikari Dr. Sakeena Akhter presented the initiatives of the Rajbhasha Cell, including workshops, awareness campaigns, and mentoring programs to facilitate daily use of Hindi in administration. The committee also inspected various administrative sections and appreciated the university’s adherence to the Rajbhasha policy.
The session underscored CUKashmir’s proactive measures to promote Hindi and integrate it into institutional functioning, reflecting a commitment to cultural and linguistic inclusivity.
