Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) today kickstarted the birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, by organising an essay writing and elocution competition at the varsity’s Tulmulla campus.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and research scholars who articulated their thoughts on the theme “Ambedkar and his relevance in attaining social equity in the age of Global Crisis” (Essay competition) and “Enduring Legacy of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s Fight for Social Justice” (elocution competition).

The invigilators and evaluators for the essay competition included: Dr. Krishna Chaitanya, Associate Prof. Deptt of English, Dr. Hima Bindu, Asst Prof Deptt of Political Science, Dr. Hilal Ahmad, Asst Prof Deptt of Law and Mr. Ahmad Raza, Asst Prof Deptt of Religious Studies while as the jury for elocution comprised Dr. Shabir Ahmad, Associate Prof Deptt of Mathematics, Dr. Debanjan Bose, Associate Prof & HoD, Deptt of Physics, Dr. Nooka Raju Bendukurthi, Asst Prof.  Deptt of Communication and Journalism and Ms. Kinjal Bagdi, Asst Prof. Department of Law.

The CUKashmir’s OBC, SC, ST and PWD cells will be organising a series of activities during the birth anniversary celebrations.

Dean DSW, Dr. Jehirul Islam and Liaison Officer OBC Cell, Dr. John K Babu were present on the occasion.
