Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath highlighted the importance of sustaining handicrafts as a cultural and economic imperative, noting that technology enhances creativity and reduces physical effort. Director DIC, Prof. Shahid Rasool, said CAD helps minimize material wastage, improve sustainability, and allows artisans to experiment digitally.
Registrar Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir emphasized that digital tools strengthen local livelihoods and tourism by modernizing traditional craft processes without compromising authenticity. Director IICT Zubair Ahmad Mir praised the program for bridging handcrafted traditions with global market demands.
Joint Director DIC Dr. Javid Ahmad Wani noted that participants will gain hands-on experience to preserve, innovate, and market Kashmir’s craft heritage, while Coordinator Dr. Firdous Ahmad Sofal concluded with a vote of thanks.
