Dao Division celebrates Lha Chhuth festival

Walong, Feb 5: Troops of Dao Division under Spear Corps joined the Meyor community in Walong to celebrate the Lha Chhuth Festival, a significant local tradition dedicated to God Yaudaak. The festival is observed to pray for peace, good health, prosperity, and bountiful harvests.

During the celebrations, soldiers participated in traditional rituals alongside community members, offering prayers and seeking blessings for the well-being of the region. The event highlighted the cultural heritage of the Meyor community while fostering mutual respect and understanding between the local population and the armed forces.
The interaction provided an opportunity for troops to engage with villagers, strengthening civil–military ties and reinforcing the spirit of community cooperation. The Meyor elders expressed their appreciation for the soldiers’ participation, noting that such events deepen cultural bonds and promote unity in the region.
