Srinagar, May 4: Group of nineteen teachers associated with the Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir have expressed serious concern, stating that their promotion to the post of Master—already approved by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK)—has still not been implemented.
According to the teachers, their Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) process has been completed, and the department has issued the promotion orders of eligible candidates on 27 February 2026. However, they have been the “dropouts” from the promotion list of 27/06/2024 and, to this day, have not been given their postings. As a result, they are under severe mental and financial stress.
The relevant order clearly states that financial benefits will be granted from the date of joining, but due to the delay in issuing postings, the teachers continue to face significant financial loss.
The teachers have urged the concerned authorities—particularly the Directorate of School Education Kashmir—to immediately issue their posting orders so they can resume their duties and avoid further financial hardship.
They have also made a respectful appeal to the Hon’ble Minister of Education, Ms. Sakina Itoo, to personally intervene in the matter and ensure its prompt resolution.
They added that if this issue is not resolved immediately, they will be compelled to pursue further democratic and legal measures.
