It is very unfortunate and distressing that the rumour of scarcity and shortage of Petrol in the country is spreading like wildfire but amid the sufficient stock of crude oil and LPG in the country. Modi government has made it absolutely clear that there is abundant rather adequate stock of petrol and gas across the country, but still selfish people are some businessmen and traders are creating artificial scarcity which is detrimental to the interests of the country. As responsible citizens of the world’s largest democracy, we are duty bound to be conscious of our duties and responsibilities and thus we are some of our selfish companies should not create artificial scarcity and thus create panic and during panic consumers are busy in panic buying which led to some shortage of crude oil and LPG in the country.
People should not heed to the noise of unreal scarcity of the LPG and Petrol and thus should not be disturbed by the activities of unscrupulous businessmen but should help the government to tide over the shortage of the crude oil and LPG in the country and in this lies the good of the country and its population. People started making a beeline for petrol pumps across the country, leading to closure of fuel stations at some places, especially in Punjab. On the other hand, LPG Cylinder supplies have also been affected after the Strait of Hormuz, a key energy route, was shut down due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. To sum up, we can say that the public should not give heed to false rumours regarding shortage of fuel and LPG across the country and should not resort to panic buying as there are adequate stocks of the crude oil and LPG and so there is no need to stock fuel and LPG and the consumers should not be panicky and instead cooperate with the government as the responsible citizens of the democracy and in this lies their own good and the good of the country in difficult times.
