Tamenglong, Dec 19: Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, visited an Assam Rifles battalion at Tamenglong on 18 December 2025 to review operational readiness and ongoing initiatives.

During the visit, the DG commended the battalion for maintaining a high level of operational preparedness and recognized their effective adoption of AI-driven innovations, highlighting the role of technology in enhancing efficiency and security.
He interacted with officers and troops, emphasizing the importance of continuous training, discipline, and leveraging modern tools to strengthen operational capabilities in challenging terrains. The visit also included an assessment of welfare measures and support systems for personnel.
