DG Assam Rifles flags off Seema Darshan tour

Kohima, Nov 23: Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, flagged off the educational “Seema Darshan” Tour from Meluri to Tawang at Kenguruse Hall, Kohima, Nagaland. The tour, organised by the Phek Battalion, included 22 school students, two teachers, and the accompanying team, providing participants with a unique opportunity to gain insights into national integration, border management, and the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Addressing the participants, DG AR encouraged the students to embrace values of responsibility, civic duty, and active contribution to peace, unity, and progress. He emphasized the importance of understanding India’s border regions and the role of the armed forces in safeguarding the nation.
During the event, DG AR also presented on-the-spot DG Commendation Cards to soldiers who demonstrated exemplary dedication and service, acknowledging their contributions to national security and community welfare. The tour aims to foster awareness, patriotism, and leadership qualities among students while promoting cultural exchange and understanding of India’s northeastern border areas.
