DG Assam Rifles honors veteran from Nepal

Imphal, October 5: Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, recently interacted with Rifleman (Retd) Num Bahadur Darjee of the 8 Assam Rifles, who hails from Nepal. Rfn Darjee retired from active service on 4th October 1982 after a distinguished and dedicated tenure in the Force.

During the interaction, Lt Gen Lakhera expressed deep appreciation for Rfn Darjee’s contributions and acknowledged the sacrifices made by veterans who have served with distinction, both within India and beyond its borders. The meeting highlighted Assam Rifles’ commitment to maintaining strong relationships with its retired fraternity and ensuring that veterans continue to feel respected and valued.
Speaking on the occasion, the DG emphasized that the Force remains steadfast in supporting its ex-servicemen and women, reinforcing bonds that transcend national boundaries. The interaction also underscored Assam Rifles’ enduring ethos of honoring the service and dedication of every personnel, past and present.
