Srinagar, May 13: Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, held an interaction with Major General Tushar Sharma, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Counter Insurgency Force (Kashmir) on May 13, 2026, in Srinagar.

The meeting provided a platform for detailed discussions on the prevailing security situation in the region, with a focus on operational preparedness, situational awareness, and coordination among security forces deployed in Jammu and Kashmir.
Both senior officers reviewed key operational aspects and shared perspectives on emerging security challenges, including the need for continued vigilance and adaptive strategies in a dynamic threat environment. The discussions also covered issues of mutual operational interest aimed at strengthening effectiveness on the ground.
Emphasis was placed on enhancing synergy and improving inter-agency coordination to ensure a more integrated approach towards maintaining peace and stability in the region. The officers highlighted the importance of seamless communication and joint efforts in addressing security concerns.
The interaction reaffirmed the commitment of Assam Rifles and other security formations towards maintaining high operational standards and working in close coordination to ensure effective counter-insurgency and security management in the region.
