DG Assam Rifles reviews Khonsa Bn, felicitates troops

Khonsa, , Jan 22: Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, visited the Khonsa Battalion on January 22, 2026, to review operational preparedness and interact with officers, junior leaders, and troops.

During the visit, the Director General was briefed on newly inducted equipment, modified drone payloads, and indigenously developed surveillance systems created by the battalion. He appreciated the unit’s adoption of modern technology to enhance situational awareness and address emerging security challenges in the region.
Lt Gen Lakhera engaged with the troops, commending their professionalism, high morale, and dedication to duty. He emphasized the importance of continuous training, innovation, and teamwork to maintain operational edge along India’s frontier.
As part of the visit, the Director General felicitated outstanding personnel with the Director General Assam Rifles Commendation Cards, recognizing exemplary performance and contributions to the battalion’s operational and technological capabilities.
