Tuensang, Sep 11: Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, visited Tuensang Garrison in Nagaland and reviewed the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness of the formation.

During the visit, Lt Gen Lakhera interacted with troops and commended them for their professionalism, vigilance and dedication in carrying out their duties. He acknowledged their commitment to maintaining a high level of operational readiness in the challenging security environment.
The DG Assam Rifles also recognised exemplary service and outstanding performance by personnel during the visit. Six personnel were awarded DG Assam Rifles Commendation Cards for their dedication, professionalism and notable contributions.
The awards were presented in recognition of the personnel’s commitment to duty and their efforts in maintaining operational effectiveness and service standards.
Addressing the troops, Lt Gen Lakhera urged all ranks to uphold the highest standards of discipline, professionalism and commitment. He stressed the importance of remaining vigilant and maintaining operational preparedness at all times.
The visit provided an opportunity for the DG Assam Rifles to interact directly with personnel on the ground, assess the operational environment and acknowledge their contribution to the force’s mission.
The recognition of six personnel also served as an encouragement to others to continue performing their duties with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility.
