
Kohima, Nov 22: Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, visited Kohima Garrison and Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS) Kohima on 21 November 2025. The visit provided an opportunity for the DG to assess operational readiness, interact with personnel, and review the academic environment at the ARPS.
At Kohima Garrison, Lt Gen Lakhera reviewed the operational preparedness of the Garrison Battalion. He was briefed on ongoing deployments, security measures, and training routines. Expressing satisfaction over the unit’s performance, he complimented the officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), and troops for professionally executing all mandated tasks. During his interactions, he motivated the personnel to maintain high standards and continue their commitment to operational excellence in future endeavors.
The DG also visited ARPS Kohima, where he evaluated the academic progress of students and interacted with the teaching and administrative staff. He appreciated the staff for their dedication, consistent efforts, and commitment to providing quality education to the children of Assam Rifles personnel and local community members.
