The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) has issued a circular directing all Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents, and Block Medical Officers not to allow any employee to deviate from their officially assigned duties.
According to the circular, it has been observed that in several health institutions, employees are being permitted to stray from their designated roles. “This practice is unacceptable and reflects poor administrative oversight at the institutional level”.
“All Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents, and Block Medical Officers are hereby strictly directed not to allow any employee to deviate from the duties assigned to them as per their official designation,” reads the circular.
“Every staff member is expected to perform the duties outlined in their job description and any deviation without prior written approval from the competent authority would be viewed seriously.
“Any instance of such unauthorized deployment or role deviation in the future will invite disciplinary action not only against the concerned employee but also against the Administrators responsible,” added the circular.
The directive comes days after a video went viral on social media showing a sweeper at a Public Health Centre (PHC) administering an injection to a female patient in a Ganderbal village, triggering widespread outrage.
