
Jammu, Mar 2: A six-day Capacity Building and Skill Enhancement Training Programme for officers and officials of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) concluded at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Jammu. Around 50 DIPR staff participated, receiving intensive training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications and modern media practices.
At the valedictory session, Dr. Dilip Kumar, Regional Director, IIMC Jammu, congratulated participants and encouraged them to apply their newly acquired skills professionally. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Joint Director (Hqr) DIPR, expressed confidence in the participants’ ability to implement AI-driven media strategies effectively. Certificates were awarded to all participants.
The training, conducted between February 23 and March 2, 2026, was divided into three batches focusing on AI Fundamentals and Advanced Applications, Print Media Practices, and Electronic Media Practices. Sessions included AI-enhanced content creation, fact-checking, crisis communication, digital verification, press release writing, social media strategies, and electronic media production, led by experts including Dr. Vinit Kumar Jha Utpal, Shri Bhawani Singh, Shri Divyavasu Sharma, and Prof. Anil Saumitra.
The programme aimed to strengthen DIPR’s institutional communication capacity and align staff skills with evolving public information and governance needs, reflecting IIMC Jammu’s commitment to technology-driven professional development in government communication.
