
Srinagar, Jan 31: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar in collaboration with the Zilla Sainik Welfare Board, organized an awareness programme aimed at assisting the families of serving and ex servicemen with issues relating to pension matters, service benefits and various welfare schemes, under the guidance of Haq Nawaz Zargar Chairman, DLSA (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge), Srinagar and overall supervision of Secretary DLSA, Srinagar.
The programme was conducted to sensitize Veer Parivaars about their Legal rights and entitlements and to provide guidance on availing benefits under different government schemes.
The resource person Tasneem Kausar, Deputy Legal Aid Defense Counsel elaborated on pension related procedures, service benefits and legal remedies available in case of grievances.
The special emphasis was laid on the benefits available under the NALSA Veer Parivaar Sahayata Yojna- 2025 which aims to provide free legal aid and support to the families of defence personnel, martyrs and veterans. The participants were informed about the eligibility criteria, the process of seeking legal assistance and the role of Legal Services Authorities in safeguarding their rights.
The programme witnessed active participation from the beneficiaries, who appreciated the initiative taken by the DLSA Srinagar to bring legal awareness an support to door step of Veer Parivaars. DLSA Srinagar reaffirms it's commitment to ensuring access to justice and legal aid for all, especially for those who have served the nation.
