Every society venerates teachers. They form an important part of every civilization. Teachers are respected for their magnificent services to the mankind. They imbibe in students the required etiquettes, morals, ethics and values that help them grow, prosper and live with integrity. Well, teaching indeed is a tough job and requires a lot of patience, dedication and hardwork to carve the students and lead them towards the new heights and experiences of life.
It is however disheartening to know that the nation builders in j & K are getting a meagre salary of 4000 monthly for all their services to the society. Yes, you read it correctly. Rehbar-e-Khel teachers of J&K are currently enduring the awful and toughest moments of life. Their economic condition is abysmal and terrible. They are enduring the world's longest probation period of 7 years. Regularisation to them is akin to a carrot dangling before them that they seem to get after an aeons age. To resist this ruthlessness, they have been protesting for last 46 consecutive days. However, the authorities seem to be absolutely reckless about it. The Rehbar- Khel teachers of Jk are bitterly lamenting just to squeeze a positive word out of the mouth of authorities. But, their cries seem to be falling on deaf ears. In the current times, getting a govt job is no child's play. A job has some important purposes to meet and one among them is self-sufficiency. The ReK teachers of J&K lack self-sufficiency as their job is not yielding much for them. They get a meagre salary of 4000 monthly which fails to fulfill even their basic needs. It is a pity that even after studying hard and qualifying mighty exams (like NET, SET MPhil,P.H.D etc) they are not getting what they deserve and yearn for. Their hard work and tireless efforts could not yield a better living for them and they reluctantly live with a rue laden heart. Physical teachers infuse motivation in students for sports activities and in turn such activities boost the physical and mental wellbeing of students and other participants. Sports activities train one's mind and upsurge the vigour and cerebral potencies of the students. The sports activities boost our immunity and abridge our susceptibility to various physical and mental ailments.
Besides involving them in sports activities, physical teachers infuse team leadership, discipline and other pivotal values in the students which play a stupendous role in their lives. Physical teachers make students acquainted with the merits of unity, patience, friendship and allied virtues. They teach students the significance such values and their role in transfiguring and revolutionizing the society. Physical teachers motivate the students to earn a career in sports and to make best use of their abilities and skills.
It is a big shame that teachers who needed to be in schools are protesting on the roads. They don't ask for the moon. Their only demand is the reduction in their probation period from 7 to 5 years. They suggest it because other Rehbar schemes also have a probation period of 5 years. When Govt launches programs such as Back to village, YSS cup Punchayat level, LG rolling trophy, My Town My pride among others, the Rehbar Khel teachers always remain at the forefront . They work tirelessly to make these programs happen smoothly and successfully. Now if they put their genuine demand before the authority, don't they merit a consideration? Don't they deserve justice? As of now, we can only keep our fingers crossed and hope that Govt back talks to the cries and laments and solves their problem
