Doda, Sep 19: Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Din Mohammad Afaqi today formally inaugurated the Inter-District Division-Level Girls’ All Age Groups Taekwondo Championship 2026 here at the Indoor Stadium Doda.

The opening ceremony was held in the presence of District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) Ashok Kumar, besides participating athletes, coaches, managers and technical officials from various districts of Jammu Division.
The championship has brought together young girl Taekwondo athletes from across the Jammu Division, providing them a platform to compete at the divisional level and showcase their skills, agility, discipline and sporting spirit.
Although the competition had commenced earlier, the formal opening ceremony was held today following the arrival and participation of contingents from different districts. The presence of athletes and officials added to the vibrant sporting atmosphere at the Indoor Stadium.
The ACD appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the young athletes and commended the efforts of the Youth Services & Sports Department in promoting sports among girls. He encouraged the athletes to compete with confidence, maintain discipline and uphold the values of sportsmanship and fair play. He also wished all the participating contingents success in the championship.
The DYSSO welcomed the participating contingents and highlighted the department’s commitment towards providing young sportspersons with quality competitive exposure and opportunities to develop their skills and excel at higher levels.
The championship is being organised by Youth Services & Sports District Doda under the sports activity calendar of the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports, J&K, with participation from districts across Jammu Division.
