The District Doda Pencak Silat Championship 2024-25 concluded on a high note Monday, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship and excellence.
Organized by the District Doda Pencak Silat Association under the aegis of the Pencak Silat Association of Jammu and Kashmir and the J&K Sports Council, the event showcased the best of local talent.
The closing ceremony was graced by esteemed guests including Musarat Jahan, an English Lecturer, who served as the Chief Guest. Kamran Wasiq Nehru, Manager at HDFC Bank, Dr. Shayan Javed Kichlo, Assistant Professor at Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, and Ayaz ul Haq Zargar, were present as Guests of Honour. Their presence and encouragement were a great source of motivation for all participants.
The championship also saw the active involvement of Faheem Raja Banday, Jee Block, Sarfaraz Misger, Government Teacher, who contributed significantly to the success of the event.
Nadeem Niaz Zargar, the Organising Secretary, efficiently led the championship, ensuring smooth conduct and fair play throughout the event.
The championship featured various categories and age groups, with athletes displaying exceptional skills and determination. The event not only provided a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent but also promoted the rich cultural heritage of Pencak Silat in the region.
